I'm trying to find a company hiring appraiser trainee, but at this time the most popular answer is: sorry, unfortunately at this time we are not due in large part to the slower than expected real estate market.
Where is it possible to find a company that accept trainees?

This is a hard question to answer and there is no simple answer. It depends on where you live and who you know, if you do not know anyone in the real estate field you should try networking a little with real estate professionals. The most important thing is not to give up after only a couple tries. Do a google search on your area for real estate appraisers and then contact them by phone, in writing and email. Sometimes mutltiple times helps get your resume accross to them!

Keep trying. Older appraisers are retiring, younger appraisers are disallusioned. They cant make as much as they had been.
Appraisers will not be displaced by AVMs, ZAIO, or ZILLOW, as someone needs to sign off on appraisals.
Contact Commercial/Industrial appraisers, they are busy all the time, usually, and some may be interested in having someone to do research, take picturesm interview lessees, etc. But don't give up if that's what you want.
Also, government agencies may be able to let you know who does their appraisals and you can contact them.

In the current state of the housing market it will be hard to find a job with a residential appraiser. Have you considered an commercial appraiser? or working in a tax assessor's office. What is your level of education, do have a collage degree? you will need an aa degree to become a residential app & a BA for commercial. But most importantly, are you in this for the long haul? Because if you are, here is some advice. If you find someone to sign on with, make sure they have a training program in place(not go with you to 3 jobs and say your good to!!!) and most importantly, make sure you have sole control of you signature!!

Yes...it is difficult to find someone but not impossible. You do need to structure your approach a bit differently then they told you at the state. Most Supervisors are reluctant to take anyone on who doesn't have experience. I would suggest going to area48network. com. There's a lot of good information for new trainees.
