I want to try out new methods of investment: Water, grain, steel and coal. Do you think it is too risky or is it worth a try? Which one is the most promising?

I have the cash reserves to pay off completely one of two houses I have. *Both mortages are at low levels and one is negatively geared and covers its own costs.

Im being told that I could a choose to pay off one of the houses and have the extra cash for investing pay taxes along the way on those investments over time of course or b rent out the primary residence thereby having two rentals to cover its payments/expenses easy to do in this market and then buy a bigger house with a bigger mortgage to take advantage of the tax benefits.

Im being hit heavily with taxes 250k plus annual income and am looking for a way to decrease taxes and increase investments.
